Knights at George Washington
2:53 PM - Aug 26th
With a win over Calistoga this past Friday, the Stuart Hall Knights break into the top 100 8-man football teams in the Nation. This is the first time the program has reached this benchmark in its 14 year history. With a star studded senior class and Coach Rich at the helm, the Knights will look to keep climbing the rankings this Friday against Roseland University Prep.
The Knights cashed in on their promise to beat Fresno Christian and did so in dominant fashion under Friday night lights. A four hour drive to Fresno did not slow the Knights down as they scored on their first three possessions and forced turnovers on the first two defensive possessions. Stuart Hall ran away in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Eagles 30-6 to open up at 26 point lead and finished with a final score of 62-28. The 4-0 Knights now rank 3rd in California 8-man football.
The Knights started their 2024 campaign with a dominate win over the Tomales Braves, 72-8. Maxon Craig started the scoring with a punt return touchdown on the first offensive touch for the Knights. Senior duo, Rhett Sypult and Max Oenning, combined for multiple touchdowns and the defense led by seniors Alex Heinicke and Matteo Calzolai kept the Braves scoreless until the final minutes. This win marked Coach Rich’s 70th win as head coach of the Knights, bringing his overall record to 70-30.
Last Friday, the Knights played in a four team jamboree with Elsie Allen, California School of the Deaf, and Roseland Prep. The Knights looked strong against EA and CSD, not allowing a single score but found a strong opponent in RUP. The Knights will face RUP on 10/18, who moved up to the NCL II this year after winning the NCL III championship last year.
